ACE’s second annual DC fly-in set for March 22-23

The American Coalition for Ethanol is pleased to announce its second annual “Biofuels Beltway March.” This event, to be held in Washington, DC on March 22-23, will gather grassroots advocates on Capitol Hill to raise support for ethanol. Participants will meet with Members of Congress and Administration officials who have authority over the policy issues that matter most to us. Join fellow ethanol supporters to talk to DC leaders about the ethanol tax credit, EPA’s consideration of E15 for all vehicles, pending movement toward more FFVs and blener pumps, and continued misinformation by ethanol’s opponents.

Lamberty speaks on blender pumps in Mississippi

Dan Gilligan of the Petroleum Marketers Association America and Ron Lamberty of ACE / BYO spoke on the future of blender pumps and mid-level ethanol blends at the Gulf Coast Food and Fuel Expo last month in Biloxi, Mississipi. Petroleum marketers from Louisiana, Alabama, and Mississippi attended the event and received information on how blender pumps and mid-level ethanol blends can prepare them for the fuel needs of their customers today and in the future.

ACE, BYO webinars address key ethanol issues in market development and public policy

In January, ACE teamed up with BioFuels Journal to host a webinar featuring a detailed biofuels policy update. ACE Legislative Counsel Eric Washburn joined Ron Lamberty to discuss recently released RFS2 regulations and ethanol splash blending laws.

Also in January, Robert White of the Renewable Fuels Association and the BYO campaign joined Lamberty for a webinar that gave petroleum marketers essential information on blender pumps and mid-level ethanol blends. The interactive discussion, hosted via phone call and an online web-sharing software, hit on the topics of blender pumps, ethanol blending economics, state infrastructure incentives, and more.

The BYO campaign has a second webinar planned for April 15. Sign-up is available today at

ACE urges ethanol supporters to ask President Obama to publicly support the Harkin-Lugar Consumer Fuels and Vehicles Choice Act

In February the Obama Administration released “Growing America’s Fuel,” a report of the Biofuels Interagency Working Group outlining a future strategy to meet biofuels production targets. This report includes an ambitious plan to increase the production of biofuels.

ACE is urging its members to contact the White House , to thank them for their support of biofuels and encourage the Administration to simultaneously pursue an aggressive plan focused on distribution of biofuels through demand creating strategies.

Specifically, we need to encourage President Obama to announce his support for S. 1627, the Harkin-Lugar “Consumer Fuels and Vehicles Choice Act.” Please see pages 16-17 of this issue for details on how to use ACE’s Legislative Action Center to send your message to the White House.

BYO campaign reaches marketers across the country

ACE and the Renewable Fuels Association have a busy spring ahead of them. The two organizations will team up and travel throughout March and April to promote blender pumps and mid-level ethanol blends through the Blend Your Own Ethanol Campaign.
